FACILITY RENTALS

The McHenry Museum with its Main Exhibit room, Changing Exhibit room, and Auditorium provides one of the most flexible small venues in the city of Modesto. The main floor of the Museum can accommodate 200 guests while the auditorium will accommodate 64 to 90 guests depending upon the chair/table configuration. 

General Rental Information

  • The Rental fee for the Main Floor is $800 for a minimum of four (4) hours and each additional hour is $131. A refundable cleaning and damage deposit is required and is equal to half the rent total.

  • The Rental fee for the Auditorium is $250 for a minimum of two (2) hours and each additional hour is thirty-nine dollars (39). A refundable cleaning and damage deposit is required and equal to half the rent total.

    • Maximum capacity for the Main Floor is 200

    • Maximum capacity for seated guests in the Auditorium is sixty-four (64)

    • Maximum capacity for theatre style in the Auditorium is ninety (90)

  • Six (6) rectangular tables

  • Fifteen (15) round tables

  • One hundred (100) chairs

Policies
Alcohol is permitted. Dancing or amplified music is not allowed.Fees may be charged for use of extra tables, chairs, special equipment or staff services. A walk through is required with the Museum Coordinator. Please call209-577-5235to make an appointment.

Tour the McHenry Museum

Visitor tours are self guided. Docents are stationed at various locations in the museum and provide valuable information to ensure that each visitor has a high quality experience to the museum.

Group tours may be scheduled by calling the City of Modesto’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department at (209) 577-5344. Guided tours are limited to thirty (30) persons. Tours are be led by trained docents who are part of the McHenry Museum & Historical Society. Larger groups can be scheduled to split into tours of thirty (30) or less, with part of the group touring the nearby McHenry Mansion (just a block away) and part of the group touring the McHenry Museum, with the groups visiting both locations in one outing. An elevator is available from the parking lot for those requiring assistance to reach the different levels of the museum.

Who owns and operates the museum?

The McHenry Museum is a City of Modesto landmark, and is operated by the City’s Parks, Recreation & Neighborhoods Department.
